Karen's Notes: Up! Up! And Away!

Roy and I overnighted at The Marriott near Dulles and took the shuttle to the airport around 5:30 a.m. Not seeing Taya, we went to the gate area, found an open restaurant and had a nice breakfast.

Taya met us at the AA gate at 7:10 a.m.  and had quite a story to tell!

Taya's story: Jim dropped her off, she checked her bag at the curb and headed to the Security Checkpoint. When she presented her boarding pass, she realized that the Sky Cap at the curb side check-in still had her Passport. She ran back through Dulles Airport to the curb side check-in booth. The Sky Cap who had her Passport wasn't there; he was going through the airport trying to locate her. Just as she was about to panic, he showed up. Phew!

Passport now in hand, Taya raced back to the Security Checkpoint which was now crowded. After a long wait, she cleared it, boarded the underground train and met Roy and Karen at the gate. That is why she is looking so happy in her photo above. She made her flight.

We boarded around 7:30 and had an on time departure from IAD.We're presently reaching our cruising altitude of 37,000 feet en route to San Juan.
